Grateful Dead's concert in San Diego  on 08/07/1971 Under the heading better-late-than-never, Illinois is finally issuing cannabis licenses. Larry Mishkin gives a license update which is already over a year late. He and Jim Marty ( Rob Hunt is on vacation) discuss the amazing story of the "Houseboat Tapes" and how this discovery is the source of much of the music from 1971 concerts. They honor what would have been Jerry's 79th birthday by enjoying a clip of him playing a fantastic solo during an Aug 1971 concert.
